“Sundowner” in San Clemente

I’m sure you all saw on Instagram, but I made a quick little trip to San Clemente, CA last weekend. San Clemente is a cute, laid back beach town about a hour north of San Diego. We went to celebrate my boyfriend’s grandma’s 80th birthday. I know an 80th birthday might not sound like the most fun thing, but let me tell you a little bit about Grandma Kay. Y’all, I want to be her when I grow up. Seriously. She walks 5 miles everyday along the beach {at 80!}, and travels all over the world. She has been to six continents multiple times; she is probably the most well traveled person I know. And she throws a great party! Her favorite place to travel is Africa; her absolute favorite is safaris. So for her birthday, she threw a party that was “Sundowner” Safari themed. {Traditionally, after you get back from a Safari, you have a cocktail and watch the sun go down, hence the name.}. She picked the most amazing venue, Casa Romantica, located in downtown and overlooking the whole town as well as the beach. It is the most beautiful Spanish-style house that serves as a cultural center and gardens. This place is seriously gorgeous. Swoon.

I wanted to share my “Safari themed” outfit with you as well, since everyone was requested to dress as if they were going for a Sundowner. I wore these amazingly comfortable cropped jeans, a military vest, and a bright beaded necklace to complete the look.

Jeans: Ann Taylor Skinny Jeans {these are currently 40% off right now!} | Military Vest | Tee: H&M Jersey Top {my fav-they are the softest!} | Necklace: Hand in Pocket Boutique, and a hot pink option Here | Heels: Old, similar Here | Purse: Ann Taylor Pebbled Signature Tote | Sunnies: Ray Bans

As you can see, it was super windy, since we were on the coast overlooking the ocean. It was a great time though, and I was so happy I got to be apart of her birthday. Just wanted to share a little tidbit of my trip with you! Hope everyone has a great start to their week!
