Off the Shoulder

Top Target Off the Shoulder Top | Shorts American Eagle Denim ‘Shortie’ {currently on sale for $16!} | Sandals Express, old, similiar Here and Here | Clutch Francesca’s Luxor Perforated Clutch | Necklace Nadri Halo Pendant Necklace | Sunglasses Rayban New Wayfarers

It’s safe to say I’m obsessed with off the shoulder shirts lately…I can’t get enough! Every shirt I find myself wanting to buy is OTS it seems like! This top is really great, because it can be worn on or off the shoulder. I actually wore it when we were in Bangkok for our honeymoon, and wore it both ways! When we were walking around the city I wore it off the shoulder, but when you go into a Wat (a Buddhist temple) you must have your shoulders covered. So I just pulled it up and it made a really cute square neck top! It’s a really light breezy material too, which is perfect for this HOT weather we have lately. Love the tiny pompom trim along the bottom too. These shorts are also my go-to during the warm weather; they are so comfy and fit really well. Plus, right now they are on sale for $16-you can’t beat that! They have a couple different washes as well.

Hope everyone’s week is going well!

Top Travel Essentials

I am getting ready for a trip to Italy pretty soon. In fact, I leave next week! I have been waiting for this trip for it seems like forever {ok, maybe just 8 months}, but I can’t believe its right around the corner. We will be spending a few days in Cinque Terre on the coast, then going to a Villa near Sierra for a week, then ending the trip with a quick two days in Rome. I can’t wait to share more of my trip with you soon, but today I wanted to share my top travel necessities in case any of you are planning a trip this fall or over the holidays. Traveling {and flying especially} can dry your skin and hair out, and misplacing things are easy to do if you aren’t organized. Below are my top faves for staying prepared, organized, hydrated, and looking great while you travel!

travelitems

  1. Noise Cancelling Earphones | Whether it’s the constant dull hum of the plane noise or the kid three rows back screaming, all the ambient noise on planes can really mess with you. Keep your calm and block out all the noise with these noise-cancelling earphones. Lightweight and portable, they block out up to 90 % of background noise.
  2. Passport Cover | This genuine leather cover keeps your passport from getting bent or messed up. Plus its cute and comes in several different colors!
  3. Evian Face Mist | This water mist is perfect for re-hydrating skin after traveling. It cleanses and hydrates your face, which can get seriously dry from flying. It even helps keep makeup in place, doing double duty as a setting spray.
  4. Silk Scarf | I know what you are thinking…why a scarf? This is probably the most mutli-functional item you can have in your bag. Not only can it be used as just a regular scarf, but also works as a hair wrap, a shawl, or a beach cover up!
  5. Travel Jewelry Organizer | One thing I used to dread when traveling was opening up my bag and having to spend 10 minutes untangling all my jewelry. Not a problem anymore. This jewelry organizer has plenty of spots for your rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Everything is kept organized and safe!
  6. Micellar Facial Wipes | Feeling a little gross after flying? These wipes remove makeup, grime, and oil in a pinch without drying your face.
  7. Tieks Foldable Flats | As much as I love heels, sometimes flats are necessary! It’s good to be prepared, and these flats fold up so that you can throw them in the smallest of purses. They are ultra comfy and you can basically take them anywhere.
  8. Portable Charger | Ever been down to 10% on your phone or laptop charger and somewhere to charge is no where to be found. It’s the worst feeling. With this little portable charger, you don’t ever have to worry about being disconnected ever again. This will give you a full charge on any device in a couple hours. Score!

Do you have any flying must-haves or items you can’t live without while traveling? Share with us in the comments below, we would love to hear from you!

Thanks for stopping by!

“Sundowner” in San Clemente

I’m sure you all saw on Instagram, but I made a quick little trip to San Clemente, CA last weekend. San Clemente is a cute, laid back beach town about a hour north of San Diego. We went to celebrate my boyfriend’s grandma’s 80th birthday. I know an 80th birthday might not sound like the most fun thing, but let me tell you a little bit about Grandma Kay. Y’all, I want to be her when I grow up. Seriously. She walks 5 miles everyday along the beach {at 80!}, and travels all over the world. She has been to six continents multiple times; she is probably the most well traveled person I know. And she throws a great party! Her favorite place to travel is Africa; her absolute favorite is safaris. So for her birthday, she threw a party that was “Sundowner” Safari themed. {Traditionally, after you get back from a Safari, you have a cocktail and watch the sun go down, hence the name.}. She picked the most amazing venue, Casa Romantica, located in downtown and overlooking the whole town as well as the beach. It is the most beautiful Spanish-style house that serves as a cultural center and gardens. This place is seriously gorgeous. Swoon.

I wanted to share my “Safari themed” outfit with you as well, since everyone was requested to dress as if they were going for a Sundowner. I wore these amazingly comfortable cropped jeans, a military vest, and a bright beaded necklace to complete the look.

As you can see, it was super windy, since we were on the coast overlooking the ocean. It was a great time though, and I was so happy I got to be apart of her birthday. Just wanted to share a little tidbit of my trip with you! Hope everyone has a great start to their week!

Packing for Paris…

Packing_For_Paris

In a few weeks, my husband and I will be taking an anniversary trip to Paris and Rome. This is my first Paris vacation and I want to make sure I am somewhat stylish in the fashion capital of the world! I’ve been doing some research and found out that I may not need to completely overhaul my wardrobe, I just need a few staples to pack that every Parisianer wears. In fact, I actually think these are staple pieces that everyone should have in their closet. Here are just a few of the basics should you be planning a European vacation as well!

1) The Trench coat – Apparently this is a European staple. You can find one just like the one I got on express.com right now. Go for a classic color like Khaki so you can switch it out with any outfit.

2) Bright Lip Gloss – In a city in favor of an all-black wardrobe, a quick and easy way to jazz up your outfit is by adding a bright lip. Try MAC’s tinted lip gloss for a quick and easy pop. Make sure to keep it light on the eye makeup!

3) The ‘Funky’ Sneaker – Slip-ons are everything right now and they just so happen to be perfect for walking the streets of Paris. Here’s the CAVEAT… Parisians do not wear sweat pants and tennis shoes and if you are shopping in this kind of attire in Paris, be prepared to be stared down. So if you are going to rock a slip-on, make sure it’s fun and funky like the leopard ones shown above. I found these on Aliexpress.com and they have every color and style you can think of.

4) Leather Pants – Need I say more? Every woman needs a hot pair of leather pants and word on the street is that you will see the people of Paris even rocking these to the grocery store. Try the fail-safe H&M for a great pair of faux-leather pants that are good quality but won’t break the bank.

5) The Clubmasters – These are my new favorite sunglasses from Ray Ban and are complimentary to any face shape.

6) Wool Hat – Super cute and helps dress up any simple outfit. You can find a classic black wool hat at H&M for $25..and they come in different sizes which is rare.

7) The essential black ‘Flats’ – You may be brave enough to rock heels on the cobblestone streets of Paris, but if you want to look cute and not break an ankle, here are some great black loafers for $15 at H&M right now, for that price, you can get every color!

8) Sweater Blanket – This thing is AMAZING. The name says it all- it’s chic with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans but also the perfect accessory for March weather and long, drafty plane flights.

Au Revoir!
